Forward motion
I propel myself against the strain
Pain of tight muscles and impending menstruation
The cycle of my body spins
Almost out of control
The sweat is pouring and I am circling round
Suddenly my heart is free
My body loose
I am soaring free through the hoards of sweaty joggers and shoeless poor
My smile extends outward to those I pass
Each one returned with surprise, recognition or grace
The gift from inside unleashed on the city
Breaking the sun through the clouds
Forcing the spring to show its shy face
I am Joan of Arc
I am Lady Godiva
I would be naked and flying if not for the chains of oppression
I am on a mission to make the sad smile
To light the path through the darkness
To hold the hand of the lonely and dying
Comforting the city with my body and smile
I am energized
The dance emerges from me without thought
As I enfold I am enfolding
Around we go
Out of body and mind
The truth
